Two ways in
Academies apply for a licence. Families register through a licensed academy. Here is exactly how each works.
For players and families
Ages U7 to U18, boys and girls
Players do not register with BCSAA directly. Registration always goes through a licensed member academy, which enters teams into the Academy Super League. If you are not sure which academies are near you, ask us and we will tell you.

Your child's age group and the area you live in.

Licensed member academies running that age group nearby.

You contact them directly
The academy sets out its own intake process.

They register your child
The academy enters their team into the appropriate ASL division.
For academies
Apply for a BCSAA licence
Applications are reviewed against the association’s membership standards. Have the following ready before you get in touch — it makes the review straightforward.
Before you apply
- Coaching qualifications appropriate to the age groups you run
- Respect in Sport certification for all coaching personnel
- Criminal Record Checks with vulnerable sector screening on file
- Current general liability insurance
- A written Emergency Action Plan for every venue you use
- Confirmed training and match venue arrangements for the season
What happens next
- We review your submission against the membership standards
- Successful applicants are admitted as members under the Bylaws
- You accept the Constitution, Bylaws and SafeSport Policy in writing
- Your academy enters teams into the appropriate ASL divisions
If cost is a barrier
Financial support for families
No child should miss a season because of registration fees. These national and provincial programs exist for exactly that reason.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart
A national charity that helps cover registration, equipment and transportation costs so that children from families facing financial barriers can participate in organised sport.
KidSport BC
A provincial program providing grants toward registration fees for children aged 18 and under, so that cost is not the reason a child stops playing.
